About Trisha
Functional Medicine Nutritionist | Founder of Pena Wellness
Trisha Peña is a Functional Nutritionist with a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine under CNS Supervision (a mouthful!). She specializes in perimenopause support, gut optimization, metabolic health, and functional lab interpretation for women who want to understand what’s really happening in their bodies.
Her training emphasizes systems biology — understanding how the thyroid, gut, immune system, nervous system, and metabolism work together. Rather than looking at labs through a disease-only lens, Trisha evaluates patterns, trends, and early dysfunction to help clients move toward optimal function before symptoms progress.
She combines evidence-based research, targeted nutraceutical and herbal support, and personalized nutrition strategies to address root causes such as chronic inflammation, stress load, nutrient deficiencies, and immune dysregulation. Her approach is collaborative, strategic, and grounded in physiology.
Trisha first entered the functional medicine space as a Certified Health Coach before pursuing her graduate degree to deepen her understanding of biochemical pathways and clinical nutrition. That advanced training allows her to confidently interpret comprehensive lab panels and design structured, practical care plans for her clients.
Her professional journey was shaped in part by her own experience with autoimmune thyroid disease, which reinforced her belief that the body communicates long before it breaks down. That season ignited her desire to ask deeper questions, connect the dots, and help other women feel better than “just getting by.”
As a wife and mother of five, and a woman of faith, Trisha believes health is not just about lab numbers. It’s about having the clarity, energy, and resilience to live fully.
Her mission is simple:
To help women feel strong, clear, and at home in their own bodies.
Why Peña Wellness
Pena Wellness was created to offer a more thoughtful, personalized way to approach health. We believe education empowers change, and small, consistent steps lead to meaningful results.
You are not a diagnosis. You are a whole person, and your care should reflect that.
Our Philosophy
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all health plans. Every person’s biology, life stage, stress load, and environment are different. That’s why we take time to understand your full story — from digestion and hormones to sleep, stress, and daily routines.
Our goal is to help you:
• Restore steady energy
• Improve metabolic and hormone balance
• Support gut and immune health
• Build sustainable habits that fit real life
Our Approach
Our care combines:
✔ Functional, root-cause nutrition

✔ Practical, realistic action steps
✔ Ongoing support and accountability
We work with your body, not against it — creating progress that feels sustainable, not overwhelming.
